Privacy Policy

Short version: conversion is 100% client-side. Your transcript and .docx stay on your device for the conversion job. Checkout email and cookies exist only if you buy Pro.

What this site does

SRT2Word is a web app that turns SRT, WebVTT, ASS/SSA, and Zoom-style transcripts into Microsoft Word .docx files in your browser.

What we do not do

  • We do not upload your pasted text or uploaded transcript files to a conversion server.
  • We do not require an account or login for free conversion.
  • We do not sell your content or use it to train models.

What happens on your device

  • Parsing and .docx generation run in JavaScript in your browser.
  • Optional draft text may be saved in localStorage on your device. You can Clear to remove it.
  • Document setup preferences (font, size, margins, toggles) may also be stored locally.

Payments via Waffo (optional Pro)

If you buy Pro, checkout is processed via Waffo Pancake (merchant of record). Card numbers, wallets, tax, receipts, refunds, and chargebacks are handled by Waffo — we do not receive your card number. We store entitlement records (checkout email + Pro status, optional visitor id and order id) in Cloudflare KV so you can restore access.

Checkout email + cookies

Conversion itself does not require cookies. If you start or complete Pro checkout we collect the checkout email you enter so we can grant Pro and restore it later. We also set first-party cookies:

  • s2w_email — the checkout email used at payment.
  • s2w_vid — an anonymous visitor id used to match the unlock to this browser.

Those cookies are HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax, and last about 13 months. Clearing cookies does not delete your purchase — use /restore with the same checkout email. You can also ask us to delete the entitlement record (see rights below).

Your data rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you — typically your checkout email, Pro status, and related entitlement fields. Email hello@srt2word.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

  • Access — a copy of the entitlement record we store for that email.
  • Correct — fix an inaccurate checkout email or Pro status.
  • Delete — remove the entitlement record (restore on that email will stop working).
  • Export — receive the same data in a portable, machine-readable format.

Payment records held by Waffo as merchant of record are subject to Waffo's own privacy policy. We may retain what the law requires for tax, fraud, and disputes even after a deletion request.

Analytics

This site loads Google’s gtag.js for Analytics 4 (G-2F8FVNXZ8F). Analytics and ad storage default to denied in the EEA and the UK, and granted elsewhere.

Google may set its own cookies (such as _ga) and process IP addresses under Google’s privacy policy. We send the page path and coarse product events: starting the converter, whether a conversion succeeded or failed, pricing and call-to-action clicks, the export paywall, checkout start, and purchase. We do not send your transcript, file names, checkout email, checkout URL, or payment details. Query strings are stripped from page views except the on-page timestamp and speaker-merge toggles.

Hosting & logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Standard CDN request logs (IP, user-agent, URL) may exist for security and reliability. Those logs are not your document contents.
