SRT to Word with Timecode or without Timecode
With timecode
Leave Show timestamps checked when someone will ask where a line sits: a translator, a producer, or you, matching a sentence to the picture. The range in the preview is the range in the file. It is a label for a person. It does not move the cue on a timeline. If the picture and the clock disagree, repair the caption file before you treat the document as a check — fix SRT timing before Word.
Without timecode
Uncheck the box when the next reader is not going back to the video: minutes, a script pass, a quote.
Cue numbers are omitted either way. The checkbox only controls the range. Do not delete
--> lines inside the SRT to get a clean document. That destroys the caption file, and it
is the whole subject of SRT without timestamps.
Two downloads, one paste
Download with the box on, then uncheck it and download again. Name the files for the reader. This page
does not keep a copy of the last download. Keep the original .srt if anyone might still need
the clocks. A WebVTT file uses the same checkbox on VTT to DOCX.

What does “with timecode” put in the Word file?
With Show timestamps checked, each paragraph gets the start–end range shown in the preview. The .docx does not keep the SRT arrow line, and it does not keep the cue number.
What does “without timecode” leave out?
Uncheck Show timestamps and that range is not written. The sentences stay. A speaker label stays if the cue had one. The .srt or .vtt on disk is not edited.
