What a SAMI sync becomes
SAMI marks a caption with <SYNC Start=...> and a <P>.
The number is milliseconds. The SRT end time is the next sync. A following sync that only
contains a blank or closes the cue and is not written out. If the file
never closes the last caption, that cue lasts two seconds.
<br> stays as a line break inside the cue. Other tags are removed.
When one sync has two language classes, only the first paragraph is kept.
Advanced SubStation Alpha is ASS to SRT.
A text .sub is SUB to SRT.
WebVTT is VTT to SRT.

What is a SAMI time?
A SYNC Start value is milliseconds from the beginning, not an SRT clock. Start=1200 becomes 00:00:01,200.
Why did a second language disappear?
Each SYNC can hold more than one P class. This page keeps the first paragraph in that sync. It does not write a second SRT for another language class.
What does an empty sync do?
A SYNC whose paragraph is only a blank or a non-breaking space ends the previous cue. It does not become its own subtitle.
